WIND ENERGY - DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

The construction of a wind farm for power generation is made up of many steps from project development to start-up.

Below is a small outline demonstrating these steps:

1. Search and hiring of areas with appropriate characteristics for the wind project;

2. Generation of maps, drawings, sketches, plans, etc.;

3. Installation of an anemometric station to measure wind potential in the region;

4. Monitoring and maintenance of measurements;

5. Georeferencing and documentation of the contracted area;

6. CCIR - Rural property registration certificate;

7. Planialtimetric, altimetric survey and environmental zoning;

8. Identification of archaeological sites;

9. EIA/RIMA - Study of Environmental Impact and Respective Report;

10. Environmental risk assessment study and possible obstacles to the project;

11. Environmental licenses from the state environmental agency;

12. Analysis of a possible mineral blockade process;

13. Geological and geotechnical surveys of the site to identify possible caves and validate soil resistance at the mapped points;

14. Certification of data collected by the anemometric station;

15. Numerical modeling of wind resources at the height of the wind turbine hub;

16. Elaboration of advanced micrositing for the penultimate layout study;

17. Request for Report and Access Opinion;

18. Feasibility of electrical connection, documentation and legal aspects;

19. General topography of the area with location of all points of the project;

20. Optimized layout definition for three wind turbine models;

21. Estimated installed power for the three turbine models chosen;

22. Comparative technical study of the annual production estimates of the three turbines;

23. Calculation of measurement uncertainties and the annual production estimation method for the chosen turbine model;

24. Definition of final optimized layout for the chosen model of wind turbine;

25. Preparation and evaluation of annual energy production estimates for the chosen turbine model;

26. Design and creation of the future construction site;

27. Evaluation of accesses to the future construction site;

28. A report of the estimated annual production for the chosen turbine model;

29. Deadline for carrying out the work;

30. Engineering and Financial studies;

31. Elaboration of CAPEX and OPEX for the consolidated project;

32. Survey of activities required for registration in energy auctions;

33. Registration of the concession request with the responsible bodies;

34. Final project development report containing all technical and financial aspects for the final step, the owner's engineering (construction of the wind farm).
